Both
ICMCI and national consultancy institutions
who are members of ICMCI have their own Codes
of Conduct for CMCs. A CMC, who is a
member of a national institution has to abide
by the Institution's codes.
Below
are the codes of conduct of IMC-USA and
ICMCI.
Tangram also has it's own
codes of conduct, written
before the company was founded and in full compliance
with both IMC-USA and ICMCI codes.

IMC-USA
Code of Ethics
IMC
members and CMC's pledge in writing to abide by the
Institute's Code of Ethics.
Their
adherence to the Code signifies voluntary assumption
of self-discipline above and beyond the requirements
of law.
Key
provisions of the Code require that IMC members and
CMC's:
ÜSafeguard
confidential information
ÜRender
impartial, independent advice
ÜAccept
only those client engagements they are qualified
to perform.
ÜAgree
with the client in advance on the basis for professional
charges.
ÜDevelop
realistic and practical solutions to client problems.
The
Institute enforces the Code by receiving and investigating
complaints of violations and by taking disciplinary
action, including revocation of certification against
any member who is found guilty of Code violation.
Clients
ðWe
will serve our clients with integrity, competence,
and objectivity.
ðWe
will keep client information and records of client
engagements confidential and will use proprietary
client information only with the client's permission.
ðWe
will not take advantage of confidential client information
for ourselves or our firms.
ðWe
will not allow conflicts of interest which provide
a competitive advantage to one client through our
use of confidential information from another client
who is a direct competitor without that competitor's
permission.
Engagements
ðWe
will accept only engagements for which we are qualified
by our experience and competence.
ðWe
will assign staff to client engagements in accord
with their experience, knowledge, and expertise.
ðWe
will immediately acknowledge any influences on our
objectivity to our clients and will offer to withdraw
from a consulting engagement when our objectivity
or integrity may be impaired.
Fees
ðWe
will agree independently and in advance on the basis
for our fees and expenses that are reasonable, legitimate,
and commensurate with the services we deliver and
the responsibility we accept.
ðWe
will disclose to our clients in advance any fees or
commissions that we will receive for equipment, supplies
or services we recommend to our clients.
Profession
ðWe
will respect the intellectual property rights of our
clients, other consulting firms, and sole practitioners
and will not use proprietary information or methodologies
without permission.
ðWe
will not advertise our services in a deceptive manner
and will not misrepresent the consulting profession,
consulting firms, or sole practitioners.
ðWe
will report violations of this Code of Ethics.

ICMCI
Code of Professional Conduct
Confidentiality
A
member will treat client information as confidential
and will neither take personal advantage of privileged
information gathered during an assignment, nor enable
others to do so.
Unrealistic Expectations
A member will refrain from encouraging unrealistic
expectations or promising clients that benefits are
certain from specific management consulting services.
Commissions
/ Financial Interests
A member will neither accept commissions, remuneration,
nor other benefits from a third party in connection
with recommendations to a client without the client's
knowledge and consent, nor fail to disclose any financial
interest in goods or services which form part of such
recommendations.
Assignments
A member will accept only assignments which the member
has the skills and knowledge to perform.
Conflicting
Assignments
A member will avoid acting simultaneously in potentially
conflicting situations without informing all parties
in advance that this is intended.
Conferring with
Client
A member will ensure that before accepting any engagement,
a mutual understanding of the objectives, scope, workplan,
and fee arrangements has been established, and that
any personal, financial, or other interest which might
influence the conduct of the work has been disclosed.
Recruiting
A member will refrain from inviting an employee of
a client to consider alternative employment without
prior discussion with the client.
Approach
A member will maintain a fully professional approach
in all dealings with clients, the general public,
and fellow members.
Other
Management Consultants
A member will ensure that other management consultants
carrying out work on behalf of the member are conversant
with and abide by this Code of Professional Conduct.
